You found it. Now keep it.

FOUND pieces are made to be worn and loved, but like anything worth having, they need a little care.

Keep it dry - Remove before swimming, showering, or working out. Water and sweat accelerate wear on gold plating, especially on copper-base pieces.

Jewelry goes on last - Apply perfume, lotion, sunscreen, and hairspray first. Let everything dry, then put your jewelry on. Chemicals in these products degrade the gold layer over time.

Store it separately - Keep each piece separate to avoid scratching. Store in a cool, dry place away from humidity, not in the bathroom. A small silica gel packet in your jewelry box helps absorb moisture and extends the life of your plating significantly. 

Some FOUND piece ships in a velvet box - but velvet is for presentation, not protection. On its own, it doesn't block air or moisture. That's why every box includes a zip-seal bag. Keep your piece in it when you're not wearing it. Add a silica packet if you have one lying around; it absorbs the moisture that speeds up tarnish. The velvet box is for display. The zip-seal bag is what actually protects your piece.

Clean it gently - After wearing, wipe with a soft dry cloth to remove oils and residue. For a deeper clean, use a barely damp cloth with a tiny drop of mild soap, then dry immediately. Never use baking soda, vinegar, or abrasive cloths, these can strip the plating.

Handle with care - Adjustable and open-ended pieces should be resized slowly and minimally to preserve their shape.

A note on our materials - Most FOUND pieces are titanium steel or stainless steel finished in gold plating. A few designs are offered in a silver finish or as gold/silver dual-tone instead, check each product's details for its exact finish. Titanium steel and stainless steel are our most durable bases: even once any plating wears, the metal underneath won't corrode or turn your skin green. Occasional copper-base pieces need a little extra care, since copper is naturally more reactive to moisture and sweat. No plated jewelry is immune to wear, but with the right care, yours will last significantly longer.
